Endure hardship as discipline;

God is treating you as sons.

For what son is not disciplined by his father?

If you are not disciplined (and everyone undergoes discipline),

then you are illegitimate children and not true sons.

Moreover, we have all had human fathers who disciplined us

and we respected them for it.

How much more should we submit to the Father of our spirits and live!

Our fathers disciplined us for a little while as they thought best;
but God disciplines us for our good,

that we may share in his holiness.

No discipline seems pleasant at the time,

but painful.

Later on, however,

it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace

for those who have been trained by it.

Therefore, strengthen your feeble arms and weak knees.

"Make level paths for your feet,"

so that the lame may not be disabled, but rather healed.

We all have our fair share of struggles. We struggle with hurts, disappointments and failures.

I fully acknowledge that God is the Source of all comfort and is the One that we should first go to to gain strength because God is the only One that can fill our deepest longing.

And then there's friends. God knows we need friends :)

Friends are God's gift to us.

If we focus on the Giver, we will enjoy our gifts better.

Work - As mentioned in my previous post, I work in the Accomodation Department or Accom for short. One thing i learnt from this job is humility.

In the ship, there is this system for waste disposal called the "rubbish separation system". Yup, in order to adhere to marine laws we have to separate our rubbish into categories like plastic, paper, food, sanitary, etc. So it gets pretty frustrating when people do not separate properly and the Accom girls will have to separate it for them. The worse is to probably clean the sanitary rubbish. The smell and the sight is enough to get you go urghhh! And doing these is not the usual thing to do for city girls like me.

We have to clean toilets too. Doulos is Old with a capital O! Therefore, the flush system is pretty ancient too. So after you've done your stuff, if you don't hold the lever long enough it will ALL FLOW OUT. Also, Accom girls have to deal with gross things like guys who don't aim properly.

Anyway, when i first started I was not used to it at all. What i've described above is just a small part of what we Accom girls do around the ship. And i remember thinking to myself "hmmm, is this all worth it? this MUCH of work?".

But yes, ask any Accom girl.

While we scrub,

God is dealing with our pride.

While we fold clothes,

God is teaching us to do our best even when no one sees.

While we handle guest cabins,

God is teaching us to go the extra mile.

While we clean toilets,

God is teaching us to live unto Him and not to men.

When we work in the cafe,

God is teaching us to SMILE and be a good testimony in the midst of stress.

WHEN WE WORK IN ACCOM, GOD IS CHANGING OUR HEARTS.

Going for my old school's Awards Night has brought back soooo many memories!

People look and act different.

Most (maybe all!) of the then juniors/middlers are now taller than me! :)

The then little girls all look like grown up ladies now.

And all the then little boys now talk to me with cracked voices.

People who i couldn't get them to do stuff are now leaders that I admire and respect.

But its good to know that somethings never change yeah?

Now i will share with you a little about what the 350 people from 50 different nationalities do on the ship. Remember that they are all paid a salary of ZERO (even the captain!). In fact, they have to pay to serve! But from the time i was there, i can see that they all do it with JOY!

The ship has quite a number of departments, but there are five major departments:

THE DECK DEPARTMENT: the majority of this department consist of guys. this where they work to clean the outside of the ship. They take care of the ship when everyone sleeps. They also get to drive the ship when its sails! Pretty interesting job.

THE ENGINE ROOM: I salute the guys who work in the engine room. Not only is it dangerous, they have to constantly work in hot (yep, i sweat sooo much when i wash the engine room toilets!) and dirty conditions, and they also have to bear with the constant loud hum/roar/noise of the engine. And they all finish work covered with oil and grease, but they do it coz they love Jesus! :) *i don't have photos of the engine guys! but when i do find one, i'll upload it!

THE KITCHEN: This is where they prepare meals and wash dishes. They prepare over 1000 meals a day. Not an easy task!

THE BOOKEX: This group of ppl work in the book exhibition, where they have to welcome guest, carry books, man the cashier, and to pack-up/pack-down whenever the ship sails and arrives at a new port.

ACCOMODATION: woohoo! Acomm for short. This is the department which i worked in! We clean and clean and clean! Toilets, walls, stairs (basically the inside of the ship). We work in the laundry too. And we also take care of the International Cafe where we serve lil snacks. Haha, will share with you stories from Acomm one day!

Each department has its own joys, challenges and frustrations! The work may look and sound easy, but trust me, it's NOT easy at all. But the beautiful thing about it is that each department supports each other so that visitors to the Doulos can get to know the reason for the Hope that we are working for. Sometimes when the work gets really really tough, looking at the faces of each visitor or at the faces of the people who are blessed by the ministry of Doulos, MAKES IT ALL WORTH IT!

Let me first introduce to you my STEP group. STEP btw, stands for "Short Term Exporsure Program".

Many people commented that we bonded really well in such a short time. These guys and girls were AMAZING to be with and to get to know better. We laughed and cried together many times! These are the people I mostly "hung out" with. There were 27 of us all together and we are known as the "Keelung Steppers" (because we started our program from Keelung, Taiwan)

Dear All,
Firstly, i would like to thank all those who have been praying about me, thinking about me, email-ing me and keeping in touch with me!

This is just some updates from me:
I work in the Steward Department under Accomodation/Hotel Services. This means i do cleaning the inside of the ship (toilets included!), almost the entire ship's laundry, and work in the coffee bar. All this i do for five days a week.

One day of the week is an off day, while the other is what we call an E-day (which is short for evangelism day) where we have both onboard and onshore ministry.

We are allowed to go out at nights during our free time. Oh btw, it will interest some of you (especially my parents) that i am eating sooo much here! Because working gives you a bigger appetite! I'm getting fat!!!!

Anyway, in short.. Doulos has been great so far! A learning experience! God's been shaping me and revealing things to me.

Trip to Chiang Mai

I actually went to Chiang Mai with my mother and her ladies' group from church. I thought I'd tag along since i was on holiday.

Day 1 - Flight to Chiang Mai and shopping!

My mom and I were contented to sit with the bags.
We were so tired coz we woke up at 4am for the flight.

Our hotel was just next to the Night Bazaar.
So we went to the Night Bazaar every night!
I totally enjoyed it coz if you know me well, i loooovee pasar malams.

When you come to thailand, pad thai is a MUST TRY!
It's something like char kuey teow with peanuts.

This is another MUST TRY! It's called "mango sticky rice"
It's mango and glutinous rice DRIPPED with santan.

Day 2
We spent the whole of day 2 with a missionary. She took us to this ancient museum and to her centre where she works. Her centre caters for the tribal girls of thailand who have been sexually abused. They give these girls new hope by providing them with a place to stay and by teaching them some "life skills" so they'll be able to earn some income.

Day 3 - Visit to a Thai school and an orphanage

We took a school period for the 5th graders - 11 yr olds.

We sang songs with them,...

played games with them,...

and prayed with them.

And then we moved to the orphanage. My second time to the orphanage.
This is SaiJai. Most of the kids just wants to be loved and hugged.

Have you felt so busy and just so burdened by the many things you had to do?

That's how I felt when I started college.

This is the secret to handling stress and the many, MANY things we have to do:

Do not compromise on your time with God!

So often when we're busy, we're tempted to say "aiyahhh, spend less time with God lah! I have sooo many things to do. He'll understand!".

But, DON'T! That's the first step to failure and the first step to NOT handling your time well.

Martin Luther said: "In the morning, I have so much work to do that I'm going to have to pray longer today"

I went to Sungei Wang today for shopping for the very first time! Yea yea, call me ULU! =)

but anyway, i went to pay the parking ticket. I inserted the "parking coin" and then paid the bill. But the parking coin didn't come out! So i asked people around me. They said it usually didn't come out! But gees... I should have thought harder! Coz how to exit from the parking lot if you don't put back the coin?!

So anyway, we went to "report" the malfunction of the machine. And even went to the security room to watch the CCTV. We were praying sooo hard.

Anyway to cut the looong story short, we didn't have to pay the fine at the end! =) Thankfully, the guards had mercy and us coz they could have charged us the fine! Thank God and the three kind Malays guards!

Driver's Ed..

Today, i went for Driver's Education Curriculum (DEC) class with a friend. The DEC class is the first step to getting to your driver's license. It is supposed to be a five hour long class. But thankfully, our gracious instructor only took 3 1/2 hours! And the driving school I went to, had just started the option of English classes only three months ago! Thank God! Imagine seating five hours listening to a lecture in a language you don't understand!

Anyway, there was this lady in her fifties seating behind me and my friend. She was hilarious!.. You'll soon see why..

The instructor showed us this sign:

The old lady answered: in the zoo!!

We were trying so hard not to laugh! hehhe.. This is another one.

In school, we're all so busy preparing for a play for Awards' Night. I'm not that busy though. I have an easy job: narrating! *smiles*. But there's still a whole lot of things to do. Costumes, recordings. We're LATE LATE LATE! it's less than a month to Awards' Night and we just started practicing. Awards' Night is in Klang this year. Yups.. I know how the Klang people felt now, when they had to practice their skit in Klang and just two days in PJ! But...

We can do ALL things.

And we all ask: How.......?????????

I'm back from ClubMed! Happy and sad to be back!

ClubMed is seriously ONE OF THE BEST PLACE FOR HOLIDAYS!

They have this "free" concept thing. You pay one price and get almost everything free.

Archery, kayaking, sailing, flying trapeze, bungy bounce, wall climbing.. are just a few of the activities there. There's this bar there, where you can get free drinks. Shakes, smoothies, EVERYTHING! Where normal hotels charged BIG MONEY for these type of beverages, theirs is FREE! THere are live stage performances at night, beach parties, night garden dancing parties. And there's also like a dresscode thingy everyday!

All the staff were really really nice! They come and eat all three meals with the guests. They can party with us too. THey are practically enjoying all the facilities but of course their working la.

But the thing that separates ClubMed from other hotels is this place called the Passworld. This place is for teens aged 11-17(Juniors' ClubMed). (They have Mini ClubMed for ages 4-10 and Petit ClubMed for ages 0-3). You can make a lot of friends there. We spend almost the whole day together. Eat lunch and dinner together too. They have free internet, Xbox, PS3, four comps, free movies, fooseball table, drinks counter. Our person in charge of us at Passworld was this guy called Syaz. He has such a cool job. When we go to the beach, he goes too. When we swim or eat, he goes too! And he's being paid for it! Cool huh? hehe. But it's long hours and hard work too.

Went out with Daniel, Ben Chin, Sarah and Tim to Curve. Quite a fun time. Pool, karaoke(again!), foose-ball(not sure bout spelling!), and BIG APPLE DONUTS(yum)!

I am sooo happy Tommy came to church with me! =) And yes, thank you to my two dear cousins for making him feel welcome and not teasing him "that" much. hehe.

-Today-

Went out with Hannah! After such a long time, finally get to go out with her! Was great catching up. We watched Hairspray. Er, sorry la, but i thought it was real boring! I love musicals. But this was boring.

I'll be going to Cherating, Kuantan till Friday. We're going to this place called Club Med. Pray for me kay? For safety and especially for good weather!

I’m back!! =)

God is indeed good! Thanks for keeping me in your prayers! He saw us through the whole mission trip and enabled each team member to pray and intercede for the land of Terengganu and at the same time, bless the minority of Christians living there!

God has been speaking to me these few days about something I would like to share with you.

In the mission trip, one of the devotional topics was “our life on earth is a temporary assignment”. I took that lesson to heart.

However, during the next few days after the devotion, God has been impressing on me about this topic all over again. It was shared in Bible Class this morning and also in my devotional book today!

Truly, life on earth is but temporary. Life on earth can be compared to this:

You are given one day (24 hours) to live however you like, knowing that how you spend that 24 hours determines how you will live for the next 1000 years.

So given this ultimatum, how would you live?

Our life here on earth is but a breath compared to ETERNITY!!

And truly… HOW WE LIVE NOW HERE ON EARTH, MATTERS FOR ETERNITY!

So my dear friends, I wanna encourage you to carefully re-look at your life, at the things that occupy your time, and see if we are building up for our real life for ETERNITY in heaven.

Speaking about my relatives, I mentioned I wanted to blog about my cousin right? Well, here goes..

This is for my beloved Ben kor kor! (who, surprisingly reads my blog! Haha..) He called me from England the other day hoping to speak to Paul Lyn. He wanted to wish her Happy Birthday.

I was then reminded about all the lovely “makan trips” he took us to. Hmm.. let’s see.. Baskin’ Robbins at nearly 10pm in the night (on a school night!). Kay Tuck Sek (er not sure how to spell this) for tong sui and mango loh!

And… not to mention all the hours of fun he brought to us younger cousins every Chinese New Year when he would faithfully bring us to the park to play fireworks! Haha.. This last three Chinese New Year’s, I would always hear the statement a few times saying “I WISH BEN KOR KOR WAS HERE! SO BORING LAH!”

He’s in England now! Hopefully he won’t settle there! =) hehe..

So, just wanna say THANK YOU!! We appreciate and love you!!

Last Friday, Ben, Sarah and I went out again! It was real fun! The three of us don't keep in touch that often, but when we meet we still can "click". We're childhood friends btw!

We laughed, ate, played pool, karoke-ed(no, we didn't go to those uncle-smoky-drinking places. It's a clean place!), talked, and talked. It was really fun. I shan't go into details though. Especially about playing pool. Sarah will kill me! (she looked so cute!! haha..)

I was stressed. Coz tons of things to do and so little time.

Then this lil Thievyien came to me in school. He called me(he always calls my full name)
"GRACE GOH! i pray for you every day u know. For the youth rally. So you will have strength."

That sentence uplifted me so much. i suddenly felt strength to go on. =)

Soul searching..

A friend of mine,Kenneth, just passed away less than an hour ago. He was only 16. I got to know him through a close friend of mine, Shannon. He's her cousin actually.

I visited him three weeks ago. We prayed and sang a song. Man, I admire his faith. He was in pain and weak, but despite all his pain and his difficulty with breathing, he sang with us. He held on to his faith right to the very end. His last words to me was "take care, grace". And when he said that, I could see that he really meant it. He didn't say it like a casual statement that we so often take for granted and use.

Makes u think doesn't it? Life is so much more than all our petty problems, all the things we do that are, come to think about it, such a waste of time. Why do we spent soo much time watching TV? chatting? shopping? when we can spend time with God, reading His word, or even helping others in need. When I say this, i don't mean that we should become a hermit or anti-social. I'm just saying that we shouldn't spend SOO much time on all this. It should not be our main focus.

This has been something that God has been teaching me lately. I have been praying that God will put eternity in my heart. That I will realize that life on this earth is SHORT compared to ETERNITY. And in view of that, I should be spending more time on things that are eternal rather than temporary things that will not last.

Then again, it's easier said than done. Actually it's completely impossible, humanly speaking. However, I serve the God of the Impossible.

Kenneth, you have thought me so much.
Though u may not realize it, your faith has drawn me closer to God.

Yesterday, i had the priviledge of attending a banquet organized by NECF to celebrate their 25th Anniversary. I wasn't really interested in the dinner but rather going to hear the guest speaker. Guess who their guest speaker was....??

Yep, none other than Joni Eareckson Tada!

When I was younger, I read the child-adapted version of her autobiography. Few years ago, my mom bought me the adult-verson of her autobiography, Joni. I was sooo blessed by her book. I would cry when i'm reading it. Jonie Eareckson Tada became paralyzed at the age of 17 due to a diving accident. Her book is about how she got out of her depression to live the life God wants her to live. If you haven't read it, i encourage you to read it! Especially if you're feeling down and if you think life's not treating you well!

My dad bought me the sequel to her autobiography yesterday, A Step Further. Can't wait to start reading it!

I was so blessed to be able to hear her testimony live yesterday! Hearing it live sure beats reading her book! but nonetheless, i was still blessed by both.

Her simple sharing yesterday taught me soo many things. But something really stood out to me. I like to share it with you.

The Bible says "God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble".

Who are the proud? Those who think they've got God figured out and have no need of Him. Who live their lives their own way, doing their things and just coming to God when they need him.

And who are the humble? Those who come to God, broken and contrite, saying "God!!! I can't do this! I can't live this life! I can't do things right! I have no strength! I NEED YOU!!". He gives abundant grace to such a person.

If we come to God everyday, being needy and desperate of Him, He will grant us the grace and the strength we need for whatever life may bring us.

camp!

I wasn't very excited about this camp. After hearing that it was a very physical camp and if you know me, i'm not really an outdoor nature type of person. But guess what?? For all the nagging(by a certain someone) about going, for all the reluctance and everything.. I ACTUALLY HAD FUN! =) and was blessed..

I just wanna post about the highlights of the camp and some memorable experiences.

My teammates.
As you all know, the people in my team were all part of the youth rally committee. I'm thankful to God that I got to know them a whole lot better. Both the girls and the guys.

Jaclyn, Sayfyril, Jernlyn, Crystal, Sherwyn and Lydia are awesome! We girls had soooo much fun. Especially at night. Made SOOOO SOOO SOOO much noise.. I tell you! God created us girls(SOME girls) to be noise-making machines. But in all that noise, at least we bonded! haha.

Ian, Joel and David were awesome too! All three of them are really great guys! The guys were probably the "backbone" of the team. Giving the girls a hand when they needed help.

In all of the activities that our group went through together, I learned that one person just CANNOT do it alone. It needs every single one of us doing our part to get through. Even the toughest person couldn't do it alone. I think Joel, my team leader, probably summed it up very well in the testimony he was giving. He said "we as youths don't like to embarrass ourselves. But sometimes, in working together as a team, we just have to be ourselves to unite to fulfill the task or goal".

One thing that i kinda like doing is people-watching. I did some people-watching in the camp. I learned many things from many different people. So now i'm gonna blog about certain individuals in the camp which thought me lessons that really stood out to me.(I had to go to friendster to take some photos. ehhe..hope u guys don't mind!) IMPORTANT NOTE: if i blog about a guy, it does NOT mean i like them kay?!

First up is Dexter from Klang. I seriously admire this guy. He deserved the award that he got. All his teammates were mostly juniors and middlers. I think he was the only senior in his team. And yet, he did great! His team did the obstacle course behind us. Even though he couldn't join the team in the obstacle course coz of his leg, he helped them a great lot by his constant encouragement and believing in each of his team members that they could do it! He was sporting and a great leader!

Next is Dawn from PJ. Dawn, if you're reading this.. Yes, i've learned LOTS from you. I admire your "sporting-ness". You were always ready to help the "weak" and believe and give people a chance to try again even when they fail.

Next is Andrew Sanjay from PJ. He was soooo frightened to go on the flying fox. REALLY REALLY frightened. I could actually feel his fear coz he was crying so badly. But u know what? with some coaxing, he actually WENT on it. If i were in his position, i might not have the guts to do it. Good job Andrew!

And then there's Sayfryil. What I learned from her is that she didn't care so much about what people thought about her. But rather, she was "comfortable in her own skin" and free to be herself. You rock girl! Was nice hanging out with you!

Last, but definitely not least, is David Poh from Klang. This guy may seem quiet and reserved but inside, he's strong and firm. He was one of the "pillars" of our team. Although he didn't say much, he worked much. Didn't complain about anything but he just kept doing what needed to be done.

Glad to have met you David! Keep being that special person u are!

Yesterday night was Robin and Ester's Malaysian wedding reception. I went for theirs in Jakarta. The whole wedding yesterday was like one BIG reunion. Got to meet up with sooo many old friends. People from FGA Selayang, FGA Wangsa Permai, FGA KL and even FGA Cheras. Now the FGA Cheras one was really unexpected. Didn't expect to meet Joshua yesterday. But it was all good! Had fun, even though i came back exhausted!

Oh, and i went out for dinner with benchin's family on monday coz someone came back from australia. Miss that guy lar! He, sarah and I used to quite close! Poor guy! He feels so bad coz he always couldn't make it when we asked him out. Nevertheless, the three of us are still pretty awesome buddies!

MOST of all, I really miss being able to grow with a group of people in the Lord.. I miss being able to support each other and encourage each other by our faiths.. I really miss being in a group where everyone is helping everyone to move on to God.

Gah well, this came to pass today!! Thank you God!

I finally had the opportunity to go to Tony Roma's. haha. Went with my parents, Alina and Adrian..

But i'll probably get a chance to go again.. rite joshhh?? hahha..

The ribs was quite nice. But i heard the pork ribs in other "non-halal" countries was better.

And guess what happened? The waiter came and introduced himself as "wan".. I think he's full name was "Fazuwan"(i saw his tag..hehe). Then, my mom said to the waiter "OH, so you're wan(one) and not two. i see i see".

And they say adults are not capable of lame jokes!

Anyways, even though i'm really grateful to that i had a chance to go there, i think i still prefer Friday's.. I'm a staunch supporter of Friday's.. hehe..

Matthew 19:23-26 ²³Then Jesus said to his disciples, "I tell you the truth, it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven.

I can imagine the disciples' astonishment and hopelessness when they asked "if it's so hard to enter the kingdom of God, then who can?!"

Coz i'm also asking the same question. I've been feeling so discouraged coz i find it soo hard to live right before God. So hard to do what is right. Like in Romans it says that we "do those things we don't wanna do and we don't do those things we want to do, coz of the sin and sinful nature in us.

But here comes Jesus' reply in Matt 6:26:

Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."

This is such a blessed hope and promise to hold on to! =) All I have to do is to trust that God is able to change me and to finish what he's begun in me. So hard to trust when you don't see results. But then again, if we do see results, then it's not faith anymore. Coz faith is "hoping for what we do not see".

ARGH! too much thinking.. hehe... For now, i'm just gonna TRUST!

I had quite a good weekend!

Friday: Went out with my three awesome buddies again-Josh, Channelle, Weeyen! Ate at Marche's, watched shrek III. (btw, don't watch it! It was incredibly borin'! But got some funny jokes la), played pool, ate icecream. Even though the movie was boring, partly coz josh already watched it and kept spoiling the fun by telling us what's going to happen, but it's the fellowship that counts right? =)

Saturday: Went for Planetshakers with Josh and Derrick! Personally, i enjoyed it VERY much-the worship(especially the worship!), the message. This josh and derrick is more "pro-hillsongs". So they kept making jokes and cheering for hillsongs! haha. And now i'm singin' "OH PRA-A-AISE HIM, JESUS JESUS"!!

Sunday: We had Parent's night! Dinner in church to appreciate all our wonderful parents! It was really good fellowship and fun!

Yup, that was my weekend. Lazy to elaborate. But wanna share a lesson i learned this week: "Those who trusts in the Lord, will NEVER be put to shame"(Isaiah 49:23). Really and truly, that the Lord will NEVER fail those whose trust is in Him.

I'm learning that God sometimes withholds things & people that we really really want soooo much for a reason. It's painful NOT to have it. I know that God's will is always best. But knowing and actually believing in it is two different things. It's hard to overcome the factor that is very much a part of a girl's life - her feelings. Okay, i'm getting emo. Better stop. =)

I love working with children! Every single time, it's an adventure! New problems to deal with, new challenges to face, but also.. new joys at seeing the simple child-like faith each child exhibits. No wonder God requires us to have faith like that of a child!

But it's not always a bed of roses! There are sometimes when i wanna pull of my hair and wring their necks out of pure frustration! There are also times where i laugh and laugh and laugh till my sides ache. The kids are so amusing, sometimes. Take today for example:

In our church, we encourage families to sit together during services. We make the children take notes of the message. There are some younger ones who are just too young to take notes by themselves. So we have this class to train them to be able do so eventually. I was the teaching that class today. And the topic of the sermon was "send the light".

So at the end of the class, i'll normally ask each kid to contribute a "point" of what they've learned from the message. So this kid said "we are to be sent as a light to the lost".

And then..... another kid goes "ya, we are to send the batteries!".

I sat there and laughed and laughed. I don't blame the kids if they thought i was going nuts. haha..

Another funny incident happened when i went swimming with some of my cousins. My youngest cousin was scraping some of those rocks they put for decoration around the swimming pool against the cement swimming pool side. And another cousin of mine told him, with all seriousness: "eh, be careful! after got fire". haha..

What can i say??? I love being around kids no matter the good, the bad or the FUNNY!

Last day of school! Free for the next two weeks. Sooo happy!

Today was our usual end-of-the-term-before-holiday-party. It was kinda boring. Oh and I got wet. When you see me, ask me why. =(

After school, I watched an olddd movie with my cousins. Then bathed and went to visit my grandma. She’s in the hospital. Was sooo bored so I called Josh. Went out with him and his band friends for mamak. Just came back.

Yup, that was my day.

Yesterday, Josh, Chanelle, Wee Yen and I went out to the Curve. We ate at Vivo’s (and laughed A LOT!). Then, we went out to shop!! The guys bought more things than the gals! It was really sweet seeing the guys buy stuff for their moms. =)

Overall, it was quite fun! Though I came back with aching legs and a tired mind, BUT… I also came back with a heart of gratitude towards God for the gift of friends! Yea, I know.. Sounds corny, but it’s true.. hehe..

Chanelle: I’ve known Chanelle for like 6years already. She’s this fun and bubbly gal who’s really nice to be around coz she’s sooo full of life! Hehe… One thing I admire about Chanelle is that she’s not afraid to stand up to anyone for what she believes in.

Josh: Gees… This guy can make me sad, happy, angry, EXASPERATED, annoyed and pleased, ALL AT THE SAME TIME!! Although we always rag, tease and insult (the friendly kind la!) each other, overall, I can say that we’re pretty good friends!

Wee Yen: I’ve not known him for that long a time yet, but I can see that this guy really is different from the rest of the guys. Not in a bad or sissy way of course! But one thing that stands out is that he actually knows how to treat girls. And that is something u rarely find in teenage guys now a days.

Happy birthday kevan! Dunno if you'll ever read this, but just wanna dedicate this post to you. You may not know it, but you have made an impact on my life. When I was going through rough times, especially in my walk with God, your countless encouragement and sometimes rebukes help me get back on focus with God. I have never forgotten what you said at the prayer retreat last year. God has been teaching me practical lessons of what you've told me. Your "words of wisdom" has often reminded me to stay on track when I'm tempted to wonder away from God. I am truly grateful that God has made our paths cross. God Bless ya bro!

Just came back from dinner with Debbie Chan and Lydia. So long since i last met up with them. It really was so refreshing to be able to share and at the same time, to learn from them. I felt so edified and encouraged to move on in Christ. I really love to be in the company of people where everything we talk about is Christ-centered and how we can, by our testimonies and faiths, encourage and stir each other on towards Christ.

Thank you God, for sending these precious people into my life! You alone know how much I have longed for this kind of fellowship. Thank You for meeting that need and desire!

From tomorrow till the 30th of April, I'll be off to Terengganu!! My family, together with a few friends, will be staying in Kuala Terengganu for 3nights and after that, we're off to Redang for 2nights. So it's work first, for three nights, conducting a seminar. Then it's holiday! Please pray for us for protection and safety. I shall post up some pics of what we did there when i get back! Gonna miss you guys lots(esp those in school)! Till then, take care!

I heard a lame joke today and the more I think of it, it becomes so ridiculously funny! Okay, this is how it goes.

Wee Yen: Why did the chicken cross road??

In my mind, I’m like, “yea, that’s so common. Where did I hear that before?” *rolls eyes*

So I proudly say, “To get over to the other side!”

Wee Yen: Correct!

I was waiting to hear the next joke but apparently he was not done yet.

Wee Yen: Why did the chewing gum cross the road?

I said: er… to get over the other side?

And then.. he said: NOOOO… it’s because it was stuck under the chicken’s feet!

The feeling that went through me… nope, there’s no words I can describe it. It was sooo lame until it became exasperatingly funny-in a lame way. I’m still in lame-wonder of how lame-ified this joke is. Hehe..

But, it still made me laugh. So that’s good. And I soo needed a laugh...

Sports' Day

Guess what? It rained the night before Sports' Day. The result? The field was wet, muddy, slimy, icky, and smelly. It reminded josh of teh ais! haha..

So anyway, they decided to cancel the track events (coz the field was in such a deplorable state) and move on to the telematches. We stayed to watch for a while, but it got kinda boring so Josh, Kelvin, David and I went down to the cooling, air conditioned center! Phew, what a relief! We played pingpong, checkers, and josh's version of "snakes and ladders". It was hilarious! Laughed alot. That was probably the highlight of the otherwise boring day.

We also had a "tug-of-war" game that we have every year. The first game was parents&supervisors vs. students. The second game was PJ vs. USJ&Klang. PJ lost TWICE! This is the first year that PJ lost. I heard so many comments of "we wish kevan was still here" throughout the day! haha..

The result of sports day?
1) MUD MUD and MORE MUD! I was the MC. So I decided to wear jeans. Oh boy! It was a totally wrong and un-right outfit choice! The bottom of my jeans were all muddy partly coz this josh flicked some mud on my jeans! And my shoes!!! I don't even want to talk about it. You could hardly recognize it! I looked like i was wearing a hardened mud cake for shoes.

2) ACHES! My arms and my back are aching like crazy. Coz of the tug-of-war. Ouch. It's still aching now.

3) But i gotta admit, I also had fun. Had fun laughing ALOT at so many things. This kelvin wore his new white nikes. He kept wiping the mud off. But by the time he went to throw the tissues away and came back, the mud was all over his shoes again. And this josh was being so grossed out at the mud and dirt. It was pretty funny. Clement was a another funny dude. Laughed so hard seeing him push a container containing the heavy tug-of-war ropes in it across the field. Of course, he got no where! coz of all the mud! haha..

4) Another good thing.. Tmr is a holiday!! yay! Going shopping with my mom again. =) Shopping for things we NEED. (i'll try!)

So yup, that was sports' day. The good, the bad and the UGLY!
